Change the default product sort order

Category Merchandiser writes its product positions to BigCommerce's Featured Items order. Set that as the default so shoppers see the merchandised result when they open a category.

Change one category​

  1. Open the category in Category Merchandiser and select Settings.
  2. If an information message says that the default product sort is not set to Featured Items, choose Edit default product sort. This opens the category in BigCommerce.
  3. Set Default Product Sort to Featured Items.
  4. Save the category in BigCommerce.

This setting affects only that category.

Change the store-wide default​

  1. In BigCommerce, open Settings and select Store settings.
  2. Open the Display tab.
  3. In Category Settings, set Default Product Sort to Featured Items.
  4. Save your changes.

The store-wide setting applies to categories that inherit the store setting. A category-specific default takes precedence.
